3 things - a beautiful short movie, a poetic experience and insights about fear...
“For all the dreamers, for all the wonderers, for all the adventurers, for all the romantics & for all the lost.” - Enjoy the beautiful short film “Time & Space” by Ben Gibbs (thanks to Violetflame/Elena for the link).

WITNESSING MYSELF
The voices within. How lovely and helpful.
If we could only tell which one is right.
The senses without. How common and powerful.
If we could only live without the fight.
Not knowing who to listen is so familiar.
Until the common sense is almost lost.
Words are worthless and it is not even peculiar
That my mind is such an uninviting host.
It has been years now that I’ve been trying
To face myself no matter what the show
To find the courage and keep self exploring
And let it out, let if flow and let it all go.
Heart or mind. Body or soul. Sounds like confusion?
The time has come to ‘know’ my inner self.
There is no danger, only illusions. The conclusion?
I need more often to really witness myself…

I also wanted to share several 'aha moments' I had from a rare book by Zen teacher Cheri Huber titled… appropriately ”The Fear Book“… which has given me many insights about the ”false evidence appearing real”...
“Do something you fear, NOT to conquer the fear, NOT to accomplish a task, but to familiarize yourself with the processes with which fear protects itself, to demystify it.”
Fear forces us to spend our lives dealing with it, ostensibly to overcome it. But that is a trick. Only fear (the illusion of separation) would want us to work to be unafraid, precisely because it is not possible for a separate self to be unafraid!
Fear is not what you think it is. Fear is not who you are underneath your facade. Fear is not the real you that you must somehow fix or improve or overcome. Fear is a very useful signal along the path to freedom. The stronger the fear, the closer you are to what you are seeking. If you want to stay “safe (i.e. stuck where you are), fear tells you to stop what you are doing, But if you want to be free, fear lets you know you are on the right track, it is a signal to push ahead in the same direction, to pick up the pace.
…When we come to that compassionate awareness that is not afraid of the fear, that can embrace the fear, we are able to heal the wounds of the child and the adult and begin to live the lives we've always wanted to live.”

Thank you Darina!
this is so timely - it seems like fear or fears are cropping up everywhere lately! Thank you for reminding me to witness myself!
karen
Thank you Darina!
I've been wondering what happened to you. I guess computer problems took you away for a little while.
Love,

Darina Dear,
I applaud you in your quest to simply witness yourself. No small task. LOL
Compassionate & Vigilant self-awareness and witnessing creates a freedom
one step at a time. Opening more space between action and reaction
so that we can bring more compassion and joy into our play with life
I’ve needed to be reminded of that myself this past week. Thanks for your support in that regard!
May we all walk into our fears awake, alive and find our power
ready to be claimed.
To witnessing ourselves and embracing our fears with compassion
yours in the unfolding,
Elena
Thank you Karen, Laura and Elena,
It is especially interesting to witness oneself when things are going in a very different direction from our intentions or as Di described in her blog when the cup is full and we keep pouring in it until the universe steps in to empty it for us… :)
And Elena you caught it so well - “opening more space b/n action and reaction” - precisely what we need to be able to embrace our fears when there are more of them within and around.
Thank you for bringing more compassion and joy in the special way that you do.
How wonderful and light it is to share and learn from each other on the journey :)
